harvesting at the house in Bordeaux

luckily the day before we left Bordeaux they harvested the vines behind the house so we had a front row seat of the harvest.  The machines are very high and narrow and position over the vines and then have large scissor like cutters which cut the grapes underneath without damaging the vines.  Its very efficient and very quick, only took about 3 hours to harvest the whole lot.  the harvester keeps the grapes in a hopper and then once full, it releases them into a trailer to go for processing.  We managed to get up close enough for a few happy snaps.
